ATLANTA — Mary E. Bailey, 90, of Hoopeston, formerly of Atlanta and McLean, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2015) at Heritage Health, Hoopeston.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. John Pham officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, rural McLean.
Mary E. Bailey was born May 7, 1924, in Logansport, Ind., the daughter of George and Gena Christiansen Minneman. She was united in marriage on May 12, 1943, in Hoopeston, to Thomas W. Bailey. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1993.
Surviving Mary are her children, Paul Bailey, Tyler, Texas; Sandra Frerichs Morgan, Milford; Teresa (Michael) Mason, Gravois Mills, Mo.; Ann Bailey, Normal; and Madonna (Bill) Alexander, Chicago; one brother, George (Joan) Minneman, Daniel, Wyo.; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Bailey, Bloomington; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bailey; one son, Gregory; and her parents.
Mary had worked in the gift shop of the Dixie Trucker's Home in McLean.
Mary was a member of Atlanta Women's Club, Mount Hope Ladies Aid, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, Boy's Town, Alzheimer's Association or charity of donor's choice.
