PONTIAC - Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Diemer, 63, Pontiac, died at 10:32 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 26, 2006) at Evenglow Lodge Health Center in Pontiac.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cullom, with Rev. Trudy Foote officiating. Burial will be at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Saunemin. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cullom, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Saunemin Fire Department or St. John's Lutheran Church, Cullom.
She was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Pontiac, to Fred and Margaret Thomas Eggenberger. She married John N. Diemer on Nov. 7, 1959. He survives in Pontiac.
Other survivors include two sons, Dale (Linda) Diemer, Saunemin, and Doug (Lisa) Diemer, Bloomington; daughter, Deb (Gordon) Kinate, Fairbury; brother, Gary (Sheila) Eggenberger, Pontiac; sister, Joann (Jack) Fairfield, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryan Diemer, Peter and Liz Kinate, and Brady, Corey and Casey Diemer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Diane Diemer.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Cullom.
She had been employed at Sears Catalog for 30 years and Adventure Tours & Travel for almost 15 years, both in Pontiac. She was educated in the Odell Schools.
She was a member of Saunemin Women's Club and Sarah Circle of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Mary was a 2005 Relay for Life Honored Survivor.
Some of Mary's favorite things in life were her grandchildren, music, reading, the Cubs, the Illini and a good game of cards. Some of her favorite times were singing with the Saunemin Community Choir.
