EMINGTON — Mary G. Young, 95, Emington, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday (May 8, 2011) at Asta Care Center, Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Congregational United Church of Christ, Emington, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. The Rev. Ed Sinclair will officiate. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Emington.

Mrs. Young was born Dec. 23, 1915, in rural Dwight, the daughter of Earl and Mildred Prickett Bunting. She married Haswell Young on Jan. 26, 1935. He died in 1952.
She is survived by her son, Bob (Elaine) Young, Emington; brother, James (Betty) Bunting, Dwight; granddaughters, Jackie (Alan) Harms, Cullom, and Amy (fiance, Jason Denault) Young, Kankakee; great-grandson, Gregg Harms, Cullom; son-in-law Don Hunter, Emington; and stepdaughter-in-law, Joyce Wells, Benton, Ky.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Haswell Young; daughter, Marjorie Hunter; and stepson, Al Wells.
Mary was a graduate of Dwight High School. She was a dietary worker at the Emington grade school and the William W. Fox Center.
She was a member of the Emington Legion Axillary, Ladies Aide and Tuesday Evening Women’s Club. She was a past member of the Pontiac Women’s Club.
Mary lived in the same house for 75 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bulls, playing euchre, quilting and making pies.
