NORMAL - Mary Sue Roehm, 83, formerly of School Street in Normal, died at 1:07 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 25, 2007) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
There will be a private family service with no visitation. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
Sue was born July 13, 1923, in Nebo, Ky., the daughter of Clarence J. and Sue W. Thomas Mason. She married Joseph J. Roehm on March 24, 1946, in Evansville, Ind. He died Nov. 16, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Eric A. (Mary) Roehm, Bloomington, and Geoffrey J. (Alice) Roehm, Sewanee, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Michael, Alexander, Amelia and Dianne Roehm and Katherine Rueb; and four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Nathan, Hannah and Ariah Rueb.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Sue retired after 24 years as an administrative assistant at Illinois State University. She had worked in various departments, including the president's office, continuing education, special education and the English department. She was an avid reader, gardener and cook.
She will be dearly missed.
