Matthew Rummel, 62, of Delavan, passed away 3 p.m. Monday (Dec. 11, 2017) at his home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1955, in Peoria, to Keith and Dee Connell Rummel. He married Debra Finn on Feb. 2, 1980, in Delavan, and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Dee Rummel, Delavan; three daughters, Abigail Miller, Delavan; Meredith (Josh) Auxier and Morgan (Jeff) Loree, both of Morton; five grandchildren, Colton, Lyndon, Will, Oliver and Edison; two brothers, Nicholas (Laurie) Rummel, Morton, and Andrew (Nicole) Rummel, Danvers; three sisters, Nanette (Cliff) Birky, Danvers; Maureen (Tom) Springer, Delavan; and Jacquie (Rob) Cline, Mackinaw.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith, and one sister, Amy.
Matt was a hard-working farmer in the Delavan and San Jose area.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delavan, was recipient of the American Farmer degree of FFA, and was director of the Delavan Fall Festival tractor pull for many years. He was also an avid collector of antique Farmall tractors.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Delavan. Monsignor Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m., both at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Delavan. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home, Delavan, is handling arrangements.
