CLINTON — Michael H. Connelly, 63, of Clinton, passed away 5:19 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 8, 2015) peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
His service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton, with military honors. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Clinton.
Mike was born Nov. 21, 1951, in Lincoln, the son of Robert “Bob” and Mary Gentry Connelly. He married Jan Steward on April 13, 1974, at First Christian Church in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jan Connelly, Clinton; children, Kari (Jason) Huffman, Lithia, Fla.; and Sara (Terry) Miller and Ryan Connelly, both of Clinton; three grandchildren, Kristyn Miller and Austin and Megan Huffman; two sisters, Sharon Dillow, Decatur, and Linda (John) Stuckey, Downs; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert “Jim” Connelly.
Mike attended First Christian Church, Clinton, and proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed primarily in Germany. He was retired from Caterpillar after 38 years. He enjoyed auctions, antiques and spending time with his grandchildren.
Through his life, Mike always directed this thoughts and deeds to the best interests of his family. His unbound love, compassion and wit will be missed but never forgotten by his family and his many friends.
