FAIRBURY — Michael Len Huling, 61, of Fairbury, died at 1:04 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 18, 2015) at his residence, surrounded by family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Fairbury, with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at the conclusion of the service. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, also at the church. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements.
Michael was born March 8, 1953, in Pontiac, the son of Howard F. and Ellen Jane White. He married Phyllis A. Lawrence on Sept. 3, 1983, in Fairbury. She survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jessica (Nathan) Mercier, Champaign; one son, Kiel (Rachel) Huling, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Sharon (Scott) Arnold, Pontiac, and Terry (Neil) Kepner, DeKalb; and three brothers, James (Gloria) Huling, Chenoa; Charles (Gail) Huling, Fairbury; and Steven Huling, Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Christopher.
Michael was a 1971 graduate of Chenoa High School. He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 29, 1975, until Oct. 25, 1979, and had been employed as a machine operator at Interlake Inc., Pontiac. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fairbury.
