PONTIAC — Minnie L. Wonders, 79, Pontiac, died at 8:01 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 10, 2006) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. James O. Wolfe III of the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home Saturday. Inurnment will follow at a later date at South Side Cemetery in Pontiac. The family suggests memorials be left to OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
Minnie was born June 5, 1927, in Saybrook, a daughter of Dolpha and Gertrude McIntyre Lorance. She married Joe E. Wonders on Oct. 1, 1971, in Weston.
Surviving is her husband, Joe E. Wonders, Pontiac; four daughters, Jackie (Dave) Reinke, Pontiac; Becky Oltman, Bloomington; Angie (Andrew) Zehr, Flanagan; and Gera Mulligan, Saunemin; one son, Danny Glenn Wonders, Athens, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepsons, David Wonders, LaSalle, and Mark Wonders, Streator; two stepdaughters, Tonya Wonders, Mendota, and Nancy Wonders, LaSalle; three brothers, Dolpha Lorance, Florida; Stanley Lorance, Chenoa; and Truman Lorance, Weston; and four sisters, Karen Rynning, Rowe; Rose Geralds, Pontiac; and Marcia Forbes and Cheryl Smith, both of Princeton. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Minnie was educated in Saybrook schools. She worked at the Pontiac Shoe Factory for many years and was a homemaker.
