CLINTON - Morris Lockard Jr., 78, Clinton, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday (May 1, 2009) at Manor Care, Clinton.
His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Clinton, with the Rev. James Henning officiating. Entombment will be at Clinton Mausoleum, Clinton, with military rites accorded. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the rosary recited at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Church, Clinton.
He was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Tower Hill, son of Morris Lockard Sr. and Ogal Bowen Lockard. He married Rita Lamkin on Aug. 24, 1951, in Peoria.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Lockard, Clinton; one son, Morrie (Kristy) Lockard, Clinton; grandchildren, Kellie, Katelyn, Audrie, Alyssa and Sean Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Clinton. He was a Korean War veteran.
He was a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus Rev. Jeremiah Murphy Assembly and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was retired from Marvel Schebler in Decatur, and was retired superintendent of the Clinton Sanitary District.
