BLOOMINGTON - Nancy S. Polley, 44, of 8 Cherrywood Lane, Bloomington, died of cancer Sunday (Sept. 6, 2009) at University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.
She was cremated and her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Roger Miller officiating. There will be no visitation.
Nancy was born June 4, 1965, in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. She was the first child of Mike and Mary Polley. She lived in Decatur until she was 13 at which time she moved to Normal, to join her father and his new wife, Sharon, along with her children, Scott and Kelley Lewis. She graduated from Normal Community High School with honors in 1983 and went on to further her education at ISU and Lincoln College.
In 1990, she moved to Streator, to live and start a business, Up & Running Computer Services, with her longtime friend Richard Jacobs.
In 1995, Nancy moved back to Bloomington. Nancy, her sister Sandy, and Richard lived together and built up the business in the Bloomington area. Her final move was the house on Cherrywood. There she and her sister Sandy, worked together to make a cozy and comfortable home.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Sandra Polley, also of the 8 Cherrywood address; her father and his wife, Mike and Sharon Polley, Bloomington; her mother, Mary Polley, Springfield; her grandmother, Helen Polley, Clinton; her aunt, Genevieve Farnsworth, Clinton; her stepsister, Kelley (Lewis) Marion, and stepbrother, Scott Lewis, both of Bloomington/Normal; and her lifelong friends, Roger Miller, Richard Jacobs and Bob Walley.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie; grandparents, Robert and Thelma Burger; and great-grandparent, Ruby Padgett.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLean County Humane Society for her love of all animals, but most especially Wieners, Allie, Nikita, Spencer and Sammy.
