BLOOMINGTON - Ora Eddadine “Eddy” Gropp, 79, Bloomington, died at 1:35 p.m. Sunday (April 2, 2006) at her residence.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev. Allen Steinbeck will officiate. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Ora was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Advance, Mo., the daughter of August and Margaret Arends Yount. She married Enos Lowell Gropp. He died in 1993.
Ora is survived by three daughters, Gina (Dave) Cline, Normal; DeAnn (Dennis) Shermon, Delavan, Wis.; and Linda Riegler, Bloomington; one son, Lowell (Ann) Gropp, Metamora; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Dixie Jackson, Normal; and special caregiver, Katie.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one twin brother, Orin Yount; and one sister, Colleen Hawkins.
She had worked as a waitress at theDixie Truck Stop at McLean, the former Federal Cafe in Bloomington and the Parkview Inn in Bloomington. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Danvers, and a current member at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington.
