BLOOMINGTON — Patricia A. Barr, 75, Bloomington, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 9, 2009) at her residence.
Her funeral has been changed to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington. The Rev. Keith Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in McLean Cemetery, McLean.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home. Memorials may be made to the Letitia Green Stevenson Chapter of the DAR or Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
Patricia was born Feb. 6, 1934, in McLean, the daughter of Ralph E. and Margaret Camper Demling. She married Eugene V. Barr.
Surviving are three children, Jeffrey E. (Sandy) Barr, Atlanta; Steven L. (Judy) Barr, Bloomington; and Kathy J. (Ron) Romani, Metamora; 10 grandchildren, Angie Neville, Atlanta; Beth (Darrell) Miller, Congerville; Jamie (Joyce) Eimer, Normal; Chad Eimer, Atlanta; Keith (Cindy) Eimer, McLean; Jason (Megan) Barr and Mike Barr, both of Bloomington; R.J. (Elaina) Romani, Eureka; Danielle (Scott) Coykendall, Peoria; and Brittany Romani, Grand Tower; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Patricia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Friends of the Bloomington Library and ISU Credit Union board.
Patricia had worked at Illinois State University for 34 years. She was the assistant director of housing.
She received her master’s degree in business administration from ISU in 1984.
She received several awards, including the 1998 Distinguished Service Award and was inducted into the Gallery of Distinguished Women located in the Christa McAuliffe Conference Room at ISU in November 1998.
