FARMER CITY — Patricia M. Sforza, 79, of Belleville died Friday (March 12, 2010).
She was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Weldon, the only child of Kenneth and Marie Olson Edwards of Farmer City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert E. Sforza, whom she married Aug. 16, 1952, and who died in 1974.
She is survived by three children, Christine Sforza of Charleston, W.Va., Lee Ann (Dennis) McKinley of Kansas City, Mo., and Paul A. (Laura Havlin) Sforza of Belleville; and two grandchildren, Robert and Bianca Sforza.
She was a retired registered nurse for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville and was a graduate of Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing in Champaign. She received her associate of science degree from Belleville Area College in 1965.
She loved to travel, read and crochet. Her favorite job was being a first aid nurse at the Edward Jones Dome during St. Louis Rams games. She was a member of the Burnham Alumnae, AARP, MENSA and the Farm Bureau.
Memorials may be made to the Julia F. Burnham Scholarship Fund via Parkland College Foundation, Champaign, or the Robert and Patricia Sforza Memorial Scholarship in the SIU-Carbondale School of Accountancy.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday for a graveside service at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, with the Rev. Louella Pence officiating.
