NORMAL — Pauline Marie Cottone, 82, of 801 Gregory St., Normal, died at 6:22 a.m. Friday (Aug. 4, 2006) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Roane Deckert officiating. Burial will be at Zion-Bishop Cemetery, Towanda. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before services. Memorial gifts may be made to Illinois State University Foundation.
She was born April 19, 1924, in Towanda, a daughter of Walter and Lelia Houchins Elgin. She married Benjamin Michael Cottone in September 1947 at Bloomington.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula (Dale Freeman) Cottone, Chicago; a son, Michael Cottone, Moline; grandchildren, Staci, Kourtney, Ashley and Nick Freeman, and Brett and Kyle Cottone; three sisters, Virginia Smith, Chenoa; Ann Cooney, Long Beach, Calif.; and Patricia (Gene) Nichols, Lakewood, Calif.; and a brother, James (Dorothy) Elgin, Danvers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ellamae McCulley; and a brother, Arthur Elgin.
She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington.
Mrs. Cottone was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University. She worked as an administrative aide to the vice president at Illinois State University for many years before retirement.
