BLOOMINGTON — Phillip J. Tereze, 78, of Clinton, formerly of Normal, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Saturday (April 15, 2017) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
His memorial service will be at noon Thursday at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington. The Rev. Paul Stroup will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church. Inurnment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites.
Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Phillip was born April 12, 1939, in Chicago, to Phillip N. and Donna Jean Bacurdjies Tereze. He married Genevieve Mabel Feldkirchner on Jan. 16, 1966, in Oak Park. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2013. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Millie Haynie.
He is survived by one daughter, Christina (Charles) Boywid, Coal City; one son, Jason Phillip Tereze, Normal; and two grandchildren, Kevin and Katy Boywid.
Phillip proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bloomington Kiwanis, Bloomington American Legion and Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington. He was in retail sales for many years and retired in 2009. Phillip loved music, singing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington.
