Ronald E. Bowen, 65, of Bloomington, formerly of Arrowsmith, passed away 9:07 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 10, 2017) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Private inurnment will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Central Illinois. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Saybrook, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 15, 1952, in Bloomington, to Donald R. and Lila B. Miller Bowen.

Survivors include two sons, Elliot (Trisha) Varner, Bloomington, and Gregory (Carly) Varner, Peoria; five grandchildren, Blaze Gmeiner, Blake and Mason Harold, and Duncan and Elliot Varner; one brother, Roger (Sharon) Bowen, Champaign; one sister, Darlene (Paul) Bishop, The Villages, Fla.; and three nieces, Debbie Deedrich, Champaign; Katie (Kevin) Builta, Windsor, Colo.; and Lisa Brewer, Cocoa Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
