BLOOMINGTON — Rose K. Gillan, 93, of rural Arlington, mother of a Bloomington man, passed away Friday (Jan. 2, 2015) at Liberty Village of Peru.
A private funeral will be Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Cherry. Private visitation will be precede the service. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Cherry. Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rose was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Berlin Township, to Jacob and Phillippena (Hahn) Pinter. She married Earl Gillian on Dec. 16, 1939. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1984.
She had worked at Valley Forms and Homemaker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Cherry.
She is survived by her children, Wesley (Joyce) Gillan, rural Arlington; Elaine (John) Shevokas, Granville; Marge Corrigan, Cedar Point; Roger (Mary) Gilligan, Davis; and Verne (Debbie) Gillan, Bloomington; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Robert Corrigan; and two brothers, Elmer and Leroy Pinter.
Her grandchildren will act as pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the family.
