Roy Ashton Evans, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:16 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 5, 2017) at his home.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Pastor Jason Collins will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Military rites will be conducted.

Roy was born May 5, 1922, in Normal, to Lawrence and Murel Clendenen Evans. He married Patricia Marie Wade in Bloomington. She preceded him in death in May 2001. He also was preceded in death by one son, Mike, and three sisters.

He is survived by two children, Steve (Martha) Evans, Mount Pulaski, and Linda (Peter) Rojahn, Germantown, Wis.; five grandchildren, Bill Evans, Melinda (Mike) Ranalli, Stacey Evans, Michelle (John) Kretschman and Eric (Shana) Rojahn; and four great-grandchildren, Mateo and Natalia Kretschman and Scarlett and Stella Rojahn.

Roy proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S Army. He received two Purple Hearts among many other medals. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge. His passion was collecting and rebuilding muscle cars and trucks, and he took great pride in his work. Roy was a real gentleman and a kindhearted man.
