MACKINAW — Roy Lee, 83, of Mackinaw, passed away Tuesday (April 18, 2017) at Farmington Country Manor.

Roy was born March 15, 1934, in Sullivan, Mo., to Joseph and Ethel Hubbard Lee. They preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death were two sisters, Lorene and Betty.

Roy married Gladys I. White on Sept. 3, 1955. She survives. Roy is also survived by two daughters, Nancee (Jim) Suggs, Fountain, Colo., and Julia Hall, Elizabethtown, Ky.; one son, Roy D. (Dawn) Lee, Greenview; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Lee, Bloomington; one brother, Kenneth (Dee) Lee, Pekin.

Roy served in the Army 20 years, retiring in 1972. Following his military career, he worked for Electrolux in Bloomington 15 years. Roy was a member of Mackinaw United Methodist Church, Mackinaw American Legion Post 607 and the Disabled American Veterans.

His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mackinaw United Methodist Church. The Rev. Shelly Forrest and Rev. Don Doty will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at his church. Burial will be at Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Military rites will be provided at graveside. Memorials may be made to Mackinaw American Legion Post 607. Haensel Funeral Home, Mackinaw, is assisting the family with arrangements.
