HEYWORTH - Roy O. Camper, 84, of Normal, formerly of Heyworth, died at 6:55 p.m. Friday (June 15, 2007) at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth. A memorial service will be at a later date. Burial will be in Randolph Township Memorial Cemetery, Heyworth, at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association or the organization of the donor's choice.
He was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Indianapolis to James C. and Ethel Huffman Camper. He married Florence G. Weaver in February 1942 in Missouri. She survives in Normal.
Also surviving are three sons, Lynn (Sandie) Camper, Bloomington; Virgil (Mary) Camper, Wapella; and James (Diana Martinez) Camper, Heyworth; three daughters, Sharon (John) Sledge, Astoria; Teresa Camper, Normal; Sandi (Bill) Murphy; Washington; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Roy was a truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 26, Danville.
After his retirement, he and his wife resided in Florida until they moved to Normal in 1997. They enjoyed camping.
