HEYWORTH - Ruby M. Homme, 87, Heyworth, passed away at 5 a.m. Friday (June 8, 2007) at BroMenn Regional Center, Normal.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. The Rev. Richard Gray will officiate. There will no visitation. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Homme was born July 9, 1919, in Arcola, daughter of Homer and Nellie Allen Mathews. She married Harold B. Homme on Jan. 17, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nev. He passed away Nov. 24, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Rita (Glen) Davis, Congerville, and Jeanie (Kim) Thorp, Heyworth; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Bert Mathews, LeRoy; and one sister, Geneva (Paul) Davis, Roanoke.
Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
She was retired from Homme's Gambles Store, Heyworth, which she and her husband owned and operated.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church, Bloomington.
