EUREKA — Samuel P. Blunier, 85, of 508 Valley Court, Eureka, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 17, 2005) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
He was born Jan. 15, 1920, in rural Eureka, to Samuel A. and Dena Wuethrich Blunier. He married Elizabeth Wiegand on Dec. 22, 1946, in Goodfield. She survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Roger (Wendy) Blunier, Duane (Eileen) Blunier, Keith Blunier, Samuel D. (Luann) Blunier, Kurt (Olivia) Blunier, and Dean (Beth) Blunier, all of Eureka; one daughter, Mary (Jacob) Wettstein of Eureka; four brothers, Henry (Wilma) Blunier, Ben (Wilma) Blunier and Lewis (Clara) Blunier, all of Eureka; and Homer (Virgina) Blunier of Forrest; one sister, Pearl Leman of Roanoke; 26 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Merle Blunier; one daughter-in-law; one granddaughter; six brothers; and three sisters.
An Army veteran, Sam served his country during World War II.
Sam farmed in the Eureka area all of his life until he retired.
He was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church, where the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Roanoke.
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or to a charity of the donor's choice.
