BLOOMINGTON — Shirley Hazel Cagley, 78, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:34 a.m. Monday (April 10, 2017) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, with her family by her side.
Her memorial service will be at noon Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Pastor Peter Weeks will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the memorial home.
Private family inurnment will be at a later date at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. The family suggests memorials be made to the daycare center at the YWCA, Bloomington.
Shirley was born April 24, 1938, in Sumner, the daughter of Burt and Edna Miller Hulfachor. She married Lyle Henry Cagley on March 29, 1956, in Bloomington. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, Deborah (John) Carter, Macomb; Jeffrey (Kim) Cagley, Bloomington; and Kip (Paula) Cagley, Bloomington; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eric Cagley; grandson, Joe Cagley; brothers, Ben Satterthwaite and Lloyd Hulfachor; and her sisters, Mary Fleming, Sharon Bettisch and Greta Tibbs.
Shirley had graduated from Alton High School, and she was a child-care provider from 1962 to 2002. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
