PONTIAC - Stan D. Ripsch, 55, of Morris, passed away Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at the Joliet Area Hospice Home in Joliet.
He was born April 6, 1950, in Pontiac, a son of Earl E. and Verna M. Harms Rispch. He was a graduate of Morris High School with the class of 1968. He was a graduate of Illinois State University with a bachelor of science degree with the class of 1972. He married Mindy Harper on March 24, 1979, at the First United Methodist Church in Morris. He was employed with Minooka Junior High School, teaching industrial arts, then science, for 34 years, retiring this past June.
He played keyboards with the band The Night Shift, from 1974 to 1994. He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed his family and friends.
He was an active member of the New Community Christian Church in Morris and played keyboards with the Praise and Worship Band.
Surviving are his wife, Mindy, Morris; one son, Mark (Jennifer) Ripsch, Yorkville; one grandson, Michael Ripsch, at home; his mother, Verna Ripsch, Morris; one brother, Kirk (Carla) Ripsch, Morris; three nephews, Kyle and Cale Ripsch and Evan Harper, all of Morris; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father on April 22, 1998.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Morris, with Pastor Kevin S. Yandell officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., Morris. Memorial gifts can be directed to New Community Christian Church Building Fund.
