WASHINGTON - Stanley Harold Bane, 63, of 2 Kara Court, Washington, died peacefully Friday (Feb. 17, 2006) at the Rochester Methodist Hospital at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
He was born on July 12, 1942, in Streator to Raymond H. and Margaret Belcher Bane. He married Carol McCann in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Stanley Bane II of Washington, Kirk (Christine) Bane of Springfield, Mo., and Brett (DeLene) Bane of Morton; three daughters, Jonna (Cary) Dalaskey of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Susie (Mark) Reeves of Longview, Texas, and Kirsten (Dustin) Essig of Washington; and grandchildren, Brenton, Sara, Brady, Winston, Oliver, Sydney and Michael.
He attended Eureka College, Bradley University and graduated from Midstate College. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co, where he was a division manager of Telecommunications World Wide. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. He also was a University of Illinois master gardener, a member of the Taylor Masonic Lodge 98 in Washington, the Mohammed Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies AF &AM Valley of Peoria, and also was a member of the Elks Lodge in Peoria.
Stan was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed boating, gardening, spending time in Florida, and was an avid car enthusiast. He will be greatly missed.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor John N. Bates will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
