FARMER CITY — Steve Magenheimer, 52, Farmer City, passed away at 10:26 p.m. Monday (Dec. 23, 2013) at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
A celebration of life service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Victory Christian Center, 701 Stensel Drive, Farmer City, with Pastor Scott Millis and Pastor Bryan Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Landon and Colin Magenheimer Education Fund, in care of Heartland Bank and Trust Co., 333 S. Main St. Farmer City, IL 61842. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, is in charge of arrangements.
Steve was born Feb. 20, 1961, at Liberal, Kan., a son of Robert & Patricia Meadows Magenheimer. He married Cherie Thacker on Sept. 1, 1985, in Farmer City.
He is survived by his wife, Cherie Magenheimer, Farmer City; two sons, Landon Magenheimer and Colin Magenheimer, both at home; a stepmother, Mary Lou (Hal) Kern, Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a stepbrother, Jim (Gwen) Hillary, Arp, Texas; and a stepsister, Kathy (Steve) Schuren, Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patricia Magenheimer, and a brother, Allen Magenheimer.
Steve and Cherie own Cornerstone Real Estate in Farmer City. Steve served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1983. He was a member of Victory Christian Center, Farmer City, and a volunteer firefighter for the Farmer City Fire Department for 26 years.
Steve was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Steve was a devoted Christian and is now with his Savior.
