LINCOLN — Teddy “Ted” Wayne Johnson, 60, Lincoln, passed away at 12:20 a.m. April 4, 2006, at his home.
A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lincoln, with Pastor Dan Wissmann officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Immanuel Lutheran Church; or Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 N. Bond St., Springfield, IL 62702-9914. Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his two sisters, Glenda (Dean) Downing and Nancy Thompson, both of Lincoln; treasured friend, Karen Ackerman, Lincoln; two nieces, Sara (Greg) Horchem, Lincoln, and Jill (Jerry) Uhrine, Thompson Station, Tenn.; and great-nephews, Joshua, Justin and Jason Horchem and Samuel Uhrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Johnson was born June 5, 1945, at Lincoln, the son of Lloyd and Florence Amberg Johnson.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 25, 1965, to Oct. 24, 1971. He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lincoln. Ted was a farmer in Logan County and also worked for Broadwell Township for many years. He enjoyed farm life, good friends and neighbors, and family celebrations. His interests included reading, travel and hiking.
