BLOOMINGTON — Theodore "Ted" Slupianek of Blandinsville was born Dec. 7, 1955, in Bloomington, the son of Donald and Betty Child Slupianek. He died Aug. 14, 2016, in Blandinsville.

He is survived by his father, Donald Slupianek, Normal; his son, Jesse (Amber) Slupianek; two grandsons; Jesse and Andrew Slupianek; and two granddaughters, Aleigha and Brooklyn Hodge, all of Davis Junction; three sisters, Jennifer (Jack) Isaacs, Farmer City; Joyce (Jim) Moulton, Vancouver, Wash.; and Janet (Gary) Hawkins, McLean; one brother, Tom (Diane) Slupianek, Princeton; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Diana Mealey, Blandinsville.

He was an Army veteran, serving from 1973 to 1975. He retired after 31 years service from Bridgestone/Firestone in 2010 and moved to Blandinsville, where he purchased "Slups Bar." He is best remembered for his sense of humor and dedication to his friends. He is sadly missed by his family, many friends and by his best friend, Pup.

A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Funks Grove Cemetery.
