PONTIAC — Thomas L. Decker, 78, of Pontiac, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday (Jan. 5, 2015) at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, with the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Tom was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Pontiac, the son of Percy and Bridget Downey Decker. He married Luci Hicks on Sept. 12, 1970, in Pontiac. She survives in Pontiac.
Also surviving are sons Donald Decker, Chenoa, and Eric Decker, Columbia, Mo.; daughters, Diana Gerdes and Tracy Decker, both of Pontiac; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Kenneth Decker, William Decker, Ronald Decker and Larry Decker; one sister, Judy Williams; and one daughter, Denise D. Decker.
He attended Pontiac schools. He worked at the grain elevator for Prairie Central Co-Op Grain. Tom enjoyed going to the Fiesta restaurant and Mary’s Restaurant for coffee with his friends.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
