WASHINGTON Todd Allen Powell, 37, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 14, 2005) at his residence at 1878 Linsley St., Washington, following a two year battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 5, 1968, in Peoria.
He is survived by his mother, Eunice Powell, Germantown Hills; his father, Joe Powell, Germantown Hills; two sisters, Lisa Powell, Pekin, and Lori Powell, Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Steven Powell, Spring Bay; his fiancACe, Mikelle McClain; two nephews, Jesse and Zachary Powell, both of Washington; his dog, Maggie; and cat, Buster.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He graduated from Metamora schools, attended Illinois Central College and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Guam.
He worked for Remington Seed in Congerville for 15 years.
He was of the Christian faith.
Private burial was accorded. A celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Deiters Funeral Home, Washington. The Rev. Ken Hogren will officiate. The family will greet friends from 2 to 3 p.m., one hour before services, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Todd and his family would hope donations would be made to children suffering from cancer at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
