PONTIAC - Valerie J. Lewandowski, 54, Elgin, formerly of Pontiac, died at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 31, 2006) at 1:32 p.m. at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Jason Woolever of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 330 S. Wells St., Suite 1318, Chicago, IL 60606.
Valerie was born June 13, 1951, at Pontiac, a daughter of Reno and Jean Harris Walker. She married Stephen Lewandowski on Oct. 31, 1986, at Bartlett. He survives in Elgin. Also surviving are two sons, Jamie (Lisa) Johnson, Ellsworth, and Jeremy Johnson, Elgin; six grandchildren, Jessica, Josh, Jordan, Amanda, Justin and Paige Johnson; one sister, Norma (Bob) Studebaker, Pontiac; one half sister, Jeannie Buttrey, Hudson, Fla.; one step brother, Donald Land, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and her mother and stepfather, Ken and Jean Land, Hudson, Fla. She was preceded in death by her father.
Valerie was educated in Pontiac schools and a graduate of Pontiac High School. She was an accountant with Hoglund and Moyles Accounting Firm in Mount Prospect for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the AMVETS Auxiliary Post 116.
