NORMAL - Verda I. Patterson, 85, Normal, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday (June 28, 2007) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Karen Witts officiating. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the memorial home.
Memorials may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association or a charity of the donor's choice
Verda was born Jan. 10, 1922, at Mount Auburn, daughter of Robert Luther and Viola Belle Saulsbury Young. She married Homer Eugene Patterson on Feb. 27, 1942, at Decatur. He died Dec 1, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Stephen) Bobbitt, Belton, Mo., and Pamela (William) Brown, Hudson; one son, Kevin (Tami) Patterson, Plano; son-in-law, James Underwood, Princeton; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Connie Underwood; two brothers; four sisters; and one grandchild.
Verda was a homemaker for most of her life and was an avid Cubs fan. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
