NORMAL — We’re all God’s candles and must burn and not complain, till God in his good time blows out the flame. On Saturday (May 21, 2011) Veronica G. Seiler’s light was extinguished at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
Her funeral will be at noon Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Kevin Lucas officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, Bloomington.
She was born Dec. 18, 1924, daughter of Frank and Ann Hyrcyzk Molek. She was great support for the survivors of seven brothers and six sisters who preceded her in death. She was looking forward to her reunion with many loved ones and friends.
She fell in love and married her wonderful husband, George, on Nov. 24, 1945, at Chicago. George preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1994. He left her in the care of seven nieces.
Surviving are Barbara Bielecki, Chicago, and Debbie Mendyk (Tony), Carpentersville, who made their home with her for several years; Diane (Bob) Janicek, Arlington Heights; Chris McConnell, Northbrook; Dorothy Nutt, Bloomington; and Jo Kimler, Normal; and one nephew, Mitch Sroka (Lynette), Arlington Heights; who all loved her dearly. A brother-in-law, Zeno Sroka, Arlington Heights, and George’s niece, Linda, and nephew, Joseph, Morton Grove, were a constant support for her.
She worked at Klemm’s Department Store, Unarco Asbestos and in the District 87 Bloomington public school system in food service.
Thank you to all who assisted in her care during her lengthy illness. Sorry you did not experience her as the friendly individual with a great sense of humor remembered by many.
