GIBSON CITY - Virginia B. Breeden, 91, Gibson City, died at 2:05 a.m. Monday (July 2, 2007) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Gibson City.
Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City, with the Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Breeden was born June 22, 1916, in Campbellsville, Ky., a daughter of Ray and Mattie Belle Sublett Bridgwater. She married Charles W. Kingsley on Nov. 4, 1935, in Saybrook. He died June 16, 1974. She later married Paul "Tom" Breeden on Feb. 21, 1976 in Fairbury. He survives in Gibson City.
Also surviving is a son, Mick (Mary Jo) Kingsley, Elliott; a daughter, Carolyn Kelly, Urbana; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mabel Logsdon, Baker, Mont.; six half sisters and brothers; three stepsons, Bill (Debi) Breeden, Aledo; Jim Breeden, Melvin; and Kenny (Cathy) Breeden, Gibson City; and a stepdaughter, Connie Sample, Kentland, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Breeden was a cook at the elementary school in Gibson City. She was a member of Saybrook United Methodist Church, Blackford Club, Guthrie Club, and WOTM. She enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest and helping others, especially children. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City.
