NORMAL - Virginia L. Lovely, 82, of Normal died at 12:36 p.m. Friday (Feb. 3, 2006) at ManorCare Health Services in Normal.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Logan Chapel at Calvary Baptist Church, Normal, the Rev. Duane Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery, Rushville. There will be no visitation. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
Virginia was born Jan. 8, 1924 in Rushville, the daughter of Harold and Courtna J. Harrison Sellers. She married Russell Taylor in June 1941. He died in December 1944. They had two children, Sharon (Brad) Acuncius of McNabb and R. Douglas (Marilyn) Taylor of Rushville. Both survive.
She married Ivan Ford in June 1947. They had one daughter, Alicia (Robert) Gipson Sr. of Bloomington. She survives.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Monica Johnson, Joy Stephens and Cynthia Renfro, all of Bloomington; Lori Ogden, Joliet, Russ Taylor, Deer Creek; Rose and Robert Taylor, both of Rushville; and Dan and Jeremy Evans, both of Normal; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was a graduate of Brown's Business College in Jacksonville. In her early career, she was a social worker in Rushville. She spent the second half of her working career with the Corps of Engineers in Albuquerque, N.M., retiring in 1985. She was an avid animal lover.
