HEYWORTH — Wanda F. Cundiff, 84, of Heyworth, passed away at 11:39 p.m. Monday (Jan. 5, 2015) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at New Horizon Christian Church, Heyworth. Burial will follow in Long Point Cemetery, Wapella. Memorial donations may be made to New Horizon Christian Church or Community Cancer Center in Normal.
Wanda was born June 12, 1930, to Fred F. and Anna B. Rousey Slayback. She married Richard Cundiff on May 7, 1949, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wapella. He passed away Jan. 30, 2010.
Surviving are one son, Rick (Nancy) Cundiff, Bloomington; four grandchildren, Carrie (Mike) Lee, Normal; Maggie Cundiff, Kissimmee, Fla.; Kellie Cundiff, Chicago; and Randy Tomera, Bloomington; three great-grandchildren, Abbie, Katie and Benjamin Lee; two brothers, Kenny Slayback and Fred Slayback; and two nephews, David (Stephanie) Slayback and David Rousey, both of Heyworth, whom she was instrumental in raising. There are many nieces and nephews who loved their "WaWa."
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Wanda attended Heyworth schools and was an active member of New Horizon Christian Church. She was the ultimate Cubs fan.
Wanda loved to dance, work puzzles, play cards, go fishing and bowl, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she called her 'angels.'
Wanda always had an open door and an open heart for anyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
