BLOOMINGTON - Wayne Otto, 93, of Bloomington died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 17, 2005) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers, the Rev. Traig Wittaker of East White Oak Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Christian Academy, Bloomington.
He was born April 15, 1912, in Danvers to Elmer Otto and Minnie Wilson. He married Ruth I. Giesel on April 15, 1934, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving is one son, Harold (Nancy) Otto, Bloomington; two sisters, Una Zimmerman and Francis Lenox, both of Missouri; one brother, Bert (Jeanette) Otto, Washington; three grandchildren, Dareck (Kristi) Otto, Durk Otto, and Sherise (Chad) Kirvan, all of Bloomington; one great-granddaughter, Sammy Jo Otto; a special family friend, David Grizzle, Normal; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sara Jean Otto, five brothers, one sister, and one great-granddaughter, Emily Otto.
Wayne was a member of East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock. He had formerly worked for the Inter Urban Railroad for 24 years and later worked for Illinois Power Co. for 22 years, both of Bloomington.
