FARMER CITY - Wayne W. Murphey, 55, Farmer City, passed away at 10 a.m. Tuesday (April 4, 2006) at his residence.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main St., Farmer City, with the Rev. Patrick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Sons of the American Legion, Farmer City.
Wayne was born Jan. 16, 1951, at Bloomington, a son of William Wayne and Georgia I. Deem Murphey.
His is survived by one brother, David (Vicki) Murphey, Decatur; and two sisters, Joyce (Paul) Conover, Clinton, and Melba Mitchell, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Wayne was an automobile and truck mechanic and farmer. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Farmer City. He was a life member of the Sons of the American Legion, Farmer City.
