PONTIAC — William L. Long, 82, of Pontiac, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Monday (April 24, 2017) at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services are planned. Memorials may be left to his family. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling the arrangements.
William was born April 17, 1935, in Fonda, Iowa, a son of James and Roberta Perry Long. He married Roxanne Sullivan on Jan. 25, 1963. She preceded him in death in 1987. He later married Shirley Peters on March 29, 1988. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James “Buddy” Long, Chenoa; one brother, Ronald Long, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Pamela Keeling, Oregon, and Denise Wiese, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Barbara Long.
William was educated in Cherokee, Iowa, schools. He had worked at Pontiac Office Supply, Johnson Press and was a telecommunicator for the Illinois State Police, retiring after 25 years of service.
