MORTON - Wilma J. Bollegar, 84, Morton, passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2014) at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Morton.
She was born April 6, 1929, in Morton, to Clarence and Lydia Staker Zimmerman. She married Clyde Bollegar on June 6, 1956, in Morton. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Krista K. (Dr. Erik) Opperman, Morton, and Nancy A. Bollegar, Bloomington; three grandchildren, Dr. David (Rebecca) Opperman and Jonathan Opperman, both of Morton, and Kathryn (Uriah) Kilgallin, Washington; one brother, Kenneth L. (Donna) Zimmerman, Morton; and her sister-in-law, Marjorie Zimmerman, Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond and Billy.
She was a 1947 graduate of Morton High School and received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Bradley University in 1952.
Wilma taught on and off from 1950 until her retirement in 1994 from Morton School District 709.
She was a member of the Morton Apostolic Christian Church.
Wilma enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading and keeping in touch with her former students.
The family would like to thank the staff at Restmor for their compassionate care during Wilma’s short stay.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morton Apostolic Christian Church, with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
