PONTIAC — Wilma Grace Lauritzen, 102, of Pontiac, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 15, 2015) at Tjardes Health Care Center at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Mary Kay Henson of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery, rural Pontiac. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorials in Grace’s name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Grace was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Greensburg, Ind., a daughter of William and Martha Richardson Monroe. She married Gilbert Lauritzen in 1959. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Grace is survived by one son-in-law, Wayne Hayward, Yuma, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Parker, East Peoria; a stepdaughter, Nancy (Eldon) Leemhuis, Ottawa; granddaughters: Julie (Jerry) Causer, Pontiac; Joan Parker, Georgia; Traci Willet, Ottawa; Kathy (Russ) Lutkehus, Springfield; Krista (John) Hunter, Yorkville; grandsons, Steve (Jayne) Hayward, Champaign; and David (Benora) Calder, Daytona Beach, Fla. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Hayward; one son, Larry Parker; her brothers, Harold Monroe and Joe Monroe; and a sister, Frieda Anderson.
Grace was employed for many years at the Spurgeon’s store in Pontiac and farmed many years with her husband. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac.
