COLFAX — A two-vehicle crash has injured six people near Colfax.
First responders were notified of the crash at 4:45 p.m. Monday on County Road 3300 East, about two miles south of Colfax. The Colfax Fire Department reported finding two vehicles with “heavy damage along with multiple patients.”
One woman was transported by LifeFlight to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Her name and condition were not available Tuesday morning.
Five other people were transported to area hospitals, but none of their injuries appear to be life-threatening.
Additional details on the crash were not available.
The McLean County Sheriff’s Department also responded along with fire departments from Cooksville, Saybrook-Arrowsmith, plus five ambulances from Gibson City, Leroy, Bloomington Fire and Colfax.
The helicopter from OSF Life Flight, along with police units units from Colfax, also assisted at the scene.
“We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped at the scene, and to the handful of civilians that were on their way home from work that stepped up to lend a hand,” Colfax Fire Department officials said in a Facebook post. “And a huge thanks to the men and women at METCOM for all of their help like usual, they don’t get half the recognition they deserve.”
