NORMAL — Normal police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver in a hit-and-run accident on West College Avenue that left a bicyclist seriously injured Wednesday.
The 37-year-old man, who has not been not identified by police, was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. According to Normal Police Sgt. Jeff Longfellow, he was in critical condition Thursday.
The man, who lives in the neighborhood, was found by a passerby about 4:35 p.m. on College between Sheringham Drive and the Interstate 74 overpass, police said.
"The victim was able to talk with officers and said he had just left home," said Longfellow.
The bicyclist was heading west on College when he was struck, said police.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about the accident to contact the Normal Police Department at 309-454-9535.
