BLOOMINGTON — Several residents in Bloomington and Normal lost power at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, when a transformer apparently malfunctioned.

The Bloomington Fire Department was notified of an “outside fire” near the intersection of Walnut and Linden and notified Ameren Illinois. The fire was small and contained, officials said and there were no injuries reported.

The Ameren website reported 337 customers were affected. A time estimate on restoring power was not immediately available.
