NORMAL — Police in Normal are investigating an early Sunday morning incident of shots being fired near the Illinois State University campus on University Street.

The incident triggered a crime advisory on the ISU campus.

Police say there were no reports of injuries or arrests.

Police were called to the 800 block of S. University Street at 1:46 a.m. to investigate a report of shots being fired. Police said a white Chevrolet was seen leaving the area, but no suspect information was given. Officers were later able to locate shell casings in the area, but there were no reported injuries.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and Normal Police is continuing to investigate, officials said Sunday.
