SPRINGFIELD — The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will explore race and community relations during a Jan. 27 roundtable discussion.
The free event takes place 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Lincoln library, 112 N. Sixth St.

Panelists include Charles Branham of the University of Chicago Laboratory School; Springfield attorney Jay Elmore; NAACP chapter President Teresa Haley; Springfield school board member Judith Johnson; Sangamon County State's Attorney John Milhiser; and moderator J. Steve Beckett of the University of Illinois College of Law.
Streator commission chairman replaced
STREATOR — The long-time chairman of the Plan Commission is being replaced by a five-year veteran.
Doug Patterson will replace Jerry O’Kraski, who was on the commission for more than 27 years before retiring.
The commission made the unanimous decision this week.
