Report: LaSalle Co. crime down in 2014
OTTAWA — Crime statistics for LaSalle County at the end of the year showed a drop in virtually all categories.
There were 536 felonies for the year, the lowest since 2001. There were 1,448 misdemeanors, the lowest in 28 years. Juvenile crime was down 17 percent from last year and there were 541 drunken driving arrests, four less than the previous year, which was also a record year.
Better crime labs, police cameras and more incarceration were attributed for the drop.
