DELAVAN — Her hair is a little wild and her pink nail polish is worn away, but Molly the pig appears to be doing OK.

The black and white potbellied pig made an appearance Thursday afternoon in her owner's yard, but decided not to stick around, bolting back into a cornfield, said owner Adrianne Alexander.

"After 16 days of Molly on her own, she showed up in my yard and then went back into a cornfield," said Alexander, of rural Delavan. "I'm just happy that she is OK. I started to lose hope after so long."

Alexander said one man reported seeing pig tracks on his nearby property.

Alexander said if Molly reappears, the pig will be difficult to move because of its size and Tazewell County Animal Control will need to assist in the capture.

Anyone who spies the pet pig is asked to contact Tazewell County Animal Control at 309-925-3370. If it is after 4 p.m., contact the Tazewell County Sheriff's Department through the non-emergency number, 309-346-4141.
