NORMAL — Illinois State University’s homecoming 5-kilometer run and parade set for Saturday will close a number of streets in the area.

The 5K course includes major thoroughfares such as College Avenue, University Street and West North Street, and those streets will be closed. The race will begin at 8 a.m. at the Student Recreation Center and end at the quad.

The parade will close all streets on its route, including the majority of uptown Normal.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the intersection of University Street and College Avenue and end on School Street just south of Locust Street. The route includes portions of College Avenue, School Street, West North Street, Constitution Boulevard and East Mulberry Street.

Streets will be closed at 6 a.m. and will reopen after the parade as safety permits.

Access to the College Avenue parking deck will be maintained via Mulberry Street. Access to Uptown Station will be maintained via West Beaufort Street.
