BLOOMINGTON — Two Bloomington men are charged with armed robbery and charges are pending against a third after they allegedly took groceries from a man while armed with a handgun.
Bobby F. Harris, 27, and Donovan Gilbert, 23, both of the 500 block of East Jackson Street, are each charged with armed robbery.
According to police, the suspects left a car that stopped just after midnight Dec. 23 in the 300 block of Virginia Avenue and approached a man who was walking home from work. The men allegedly battered the victim and took his groceries.
Harris and Gilbert were jailed in lieu of posting $25,025.
According to Normal police, a third man, also 23 years old, was jailed on initial charges of armed robbery. The Pantagraph does not name suspects in such cases until formal charges are filed by the state’s attorney’s office, which is expected Thursday.
